Christchurch International Airport is the main access point for New Zealand's South Island. The airport consists of a domestic terminal and an international terminal within the one building, however construction is underway of a new domestic terminal building.

Public Transport - Christchurch International Airport is well served by public buses, with three routes connecting the airport to the city centre and beyond. All buses arrive and depart from the regional transport hub at the northern end of the International Arrivals Hall.
Car Hire - Car Hire desks can be found inside the terminal building. Companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, Backpacker Campervans, Britz, Explore More and Maui. You can book your car online to guarantee availability.
Check-in counters are located near the terminal entrance.
The international terminal has five Travelex stores offering money exchange, Cash Passports, phone cards and electronic money transfer.
Business facilities are available in the airline lounges, for eligible passengers.
Internet kiosks are available within the check-in, departures and arrivals halls in the terminal. Wi-fi access is also available and is free for the first 30 minutes.
Baby changing and nursing facilities are available throughout the terminal.
Trolleys are available throughout the airport at no cost. Baggage storage, wrapping and freight services are also available. Items that have been lost and found within the terminal building are stored at the Travel and Tourism Centre.
Public shower facilities are located in the male and female washrooms in the international arrivals hall. They are free of charge and towels may be hired from the Travel and Tourism Centre. Complimentary soap is provided with towel hire. Showers are also available in the airline lounges, for eligible passengers.
The independently operated Manaia Lounge is located on the first floor. The lounge is open from 04.15 - 06.30 and 11.30 - 17.30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. 04.15 - 06.30 and 14.30 - 20.30 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Facilities include dining options, tea, cofee and beverages, showers, internet access and reading material.
