About Wellington Airport

Wellington International Airport services New Zealand's capital and is the third busiest airport in the country. The airport was once known as Rongotai Airport due to its location in the suburb of Rongotai and is a secondary hub for Air New Zealand.

Public Transport - The Airport Flyer bus departs from the southern end of the terminal on level 0 (exit from baggage claim doors on level 0 and turn right). Monday to Friday it departs every 15 minutes between 6:30am and 9:30pm. It operates on a reduced timetable on weekends and public holidays. Free Wi-Fi is available onboard the bus.

Car Hire - Car hire desks are located on level 0 in the main terminal. Companies include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and Thrifty. You can book your car online to guarantee availability.

Check-in

Check-in for both domestic and international flights is available near the terminal entrance.

Money Exchange

The airport has a Travelex outlet as well as a range of ATMs.

Business Services

Wellington Airport Conference Centre offers the most conveniently located conference and meeting rooms right in the heart of the main terminal. Business facilities are also located in the Air New Zealand Koru lounge, for eligible passengers

Internet Access

A free wireless internet connection is available for all travellers throughout the airport. There are also 10 internet kiosks allowing for free internet access to selected websites and credit card charged browsing.

Family Facilities

A family-friendly parent's room is located in the main terminal, on level 1 along the retail street. This provides facilities for the changing and disposal of nappies, as well as toilets and a comfortable seat for feeding. Baby change tables are also provided in the international arrivals and departures area.

Baggage

Luggage storage is located by the baggage claim area on Level 0, at a cost.

Showers

Showers are located in the Air New Zealand Koru lounge for eligible passengers.

Airline Lounges

The following airlines have lounges located within the airport. For access to specific lounges, refer to your airline.

Air New Zealand - Air New Zealand has a Koru lounge located after security. The lounge opens 1 hour before the first domestic flight departs and remains open until the last flight departs. Lounge facilities include light refreshments, bar facilities, barista coffee (limited hours), reading material, TV, business facilities and showers. Air New Zealand lounges are available to eligible passengers with Koru membership.
